Most Memorable fishing experience

1) Growing up Dad took me fishing at a small farm pond in Western Iowa. 2) Fishing early spring or late fall for monster stripers on Norris Lake with friends and club members. During ideal conditions I have found myself surrounded by huge stripers gorging on baitfish on the surface.  Beware that walking the dog with a super spook may result in straightened hooks and o-rings if you don’t play the fish. 3) When fishing at Monroe Lake in Indiana the big one got away with my crank bait hung up in a tree on the surface, a respectable 2 lb. bass was trying to feed on it.  When I approached closer to retrieve my bait, I saw an 8 lb. lunker nudge the smaller fish out of the way while in feed mode for my crank bait.  After several other baits tossed in front of this giant, it was not interested and finally returned to the depths.  My partner and I will never forget this experience and to this day look forward to every trip back to Monroe Lake for a chance at this Indiana trophy.
