Meeting Minutes  March 28,2005

Passed out Certificates of The Bass Federation membership to the clubs that were present.

Talked about our Region 1 Tournament May 19-20 at Buckeye Lake. The backup is Rocky Fork Lake We have permits for both in hand.

We need to determine how much money for the regional payout.

Ralph and Mike stressed to our club presidents, that we need help with the regional tournament!

Ralph’s Director spot ends in June of 2007 nominations are needed for that position. We will be voting at the next meeting.

We talked about the SQT being held in the southern part of the state. Rocky Fork is the site. August 18-19. The State Tournament Director picks all state tournament lakes.

Tournament of Champions will be at June 16^th at Deer Creek

Next Region 1 meeting is March 26^th at Gander Mountain East 7:00pm

Present were: Buckeye Lake, Castaway, Catch and Release, Columbus, Fishin Fools, Gahanna, Good Ol' Boys, Mid-Ohio, Olde Canal, Reel Fun.

Old Business:

1) Vote on lake to host 2007 Region 1 tournament.2 finalist were Buckeye and Rocky Fork. Buckeye 6 votes, Rocky 4 votes.2007 Region 1 tournament will be held at Buckeye Lake, May 19th&20th,2007,pending permit. Date is firm, lake will change if needed.

New Business:

1) Nomination for 1 Region 1 director. Mike Rees was nominated, nominations closed. Mike Rees accepted position.

2) discussion of topics for OBF board meeting on April 1st,2006

     a) Region 1 discussed clubs that are requesting refunds after the Feb.4th,2006 deadline and region 1 voted to refund monies to clubs provided        that all raffle tickets and money had been returned to OBF.Region 1 directors voted that way at OBF board meeting.

     b) Discussion on OBF Bylaw and tournament rules changes, removing BASS and injecting TBF/FLW as required, region 1 voted for changes as did directors at OBF board meeting.  

 3) Entry forms for 2006 region 1 tournament were handed out as were Ohio tournament of Champions entry forms. Any club needing either one can contact either director or pull from OBF website.

Region 1 tournament info:

1) Check in time  5:00am to 6:00am  be prompt.

2) 100.00 entry fee per 2man team

3)Payouts will be explained at next meeting 

Next region 1 meeting will be May 15th at Gander Mountain on Taylor Rd.( Reynoldsburg store) on May 15th,2006. 7:00 pm.We had a good turn out at last meeting an we hope to see everyone back for next meeting. Next meeting per bylaws is a required/mandatory meeting for region 1 tournament entries to be turned in, this is to correct any mistakes that may happen and everything is correct when meeting adjourns and pairings will not be impeded in this short time span.

Discussed regional tournament info

1) Region 1 tournament is June 3^rd and 4^th at Delaware lake marina ramp. Check in by 6:00am both days . All regional entries must be to regional directors 2 weeks before regional tournament (May 20^th 2006).

2) No refunds for paired teams after May 20^th deadline.

3) Entire club can fish regional tournament provided that it is in pairs(boater, non-boater)

4) Anyone fishing regional tournament must be affiliated with OBF/TBF by May 13^th 2006 (3 weeks before regional tournament)

5) Members that have switched clubs due to the re-aligning of the OBF/TBF can fish regional tournament with new club provided that new club agrees.

6) Regional Directors requested alternates to help

7)Director Ralph Ward stated that he will not be at regional tournament due to Daughters graduation from Ohio University and every attempt will be made in future years to avoid first weekend in June for graduation purposes.

8) All boaters must send proof of liability insurance of  300,000 dollars with there entries. If dollar amount changes we will let you know.

 9) We are trying to secure some of the state equipment to assist with tournament.

10) We will have a release boat at tournament

New Business

1) Steve Pearson is asst. director. Email  LSPEARSON@aep.com   Steve has served Region 1 in the past and we thank him for his time in the future.

2)Verbiage change to region 1 bylaws, OBCF removed and OBF injected.

3)Nominations for 1 regional director at next meeting, Mike Rees term expires June, 2006.

4) nomination of lakes for 2007 regional tournament were; Buckeye, Dillon, Rocky Fork, Lake Erie (Sandusky), Mosquito. Lakes will be voted on at next meeting per bylaws.

5) All boat raffle tickets and money MUST be back to Jack Miller by March 4^th 2006.

Next Region 1 meeting is at Gander Mountain on Taylor Rd. (Reynoldsburg store) on March 27^th 2006.  7:00 pm. We will discuss and vote if needed on topics for OBF Board of directors meeting on April 1^st 2006.Region 1 had a good turn out on Feb 20^th meeting we hope to see everyone back in March.
