Boyd & Bob,
My Erie-fishing buddy Brian Clark called me on my way home last night and invited me to give Pelee a try today. With a nice weather forecast and his big 620 Ranger, not tough to choose fishing over yard work [though I had to do the yard work anyway when I got home]. We found 10 keeper smallmouth, although it wasn't easy. They were *very* tightly bunched in just a few spots, at least that we found. The quality wasn't bad, though: we believe our 5 biggest would have gone a definite 25 pounds, see. Two butterball-fat 20 inchers, a fat 20.5 incher, a 22 incher that Brian caught, and a 23 incher that I managed to boat. Picture of the 23 incher attached. It's always "easy" to catch the big ones when they don't count!
